Joshua's Journey: Day 42

I got to the hospital a little after Derek today and Maddy and my mom were with me. So I wanted in the waiting room while my mom went in to see Joshua with Derek. I was talking to another NICU mom, which she is supposed to be going home with her baby tomorrow, so pray that it will all work out for them. When Derek came out to switch with me, he had a bit of a smirk on his face, so I knew something was up. I walked in and the first thing I see, or don't see, is the vapotherm. It is gone! He is breathing all on his own! Well, him and God, cause we know now more than ever that He gives him each one of his breaths. So now all he has is his feeding tube in his nose, but before they got all situated, our amazing nurse got a couple of pictures with just his sweet face! Thanks so much Sheri, I can't stop looking at the pictures!!! So, he's doing good and we thank you all for the prayers and thank God for being our strength in our times of greatest weakness, but also being our strength when he gives us the strength to do things. He deserves all the credit and all the glory. I showed the picture to Maddy and asked her who it was, without hesitation she said Joshy! I can't wait for her to meet her baby brother face to face!

Specifics to pray for:

That his episodes continue to dwindle.

He eats well! Pray in advance that he can suck, swallow and breath well all at the same time. This is pretty much the main thing he still needs to learn and accomplish before going home.

Pray for the health of the entire French family. We need to all be healthy as we finish our final preparations before he comes home.

That he will come home in God's perfect timing. Though we want it to be soon, we want him to be ready!

God will continued to be glorified through Joshua's story and our lives.

For the NICU staff to be blessed and have wisdom when dealing with all the babies.
(Happy nurse's week) Ya'll are amazing!!!
