Joshua's Journey: Day 19

Be thankful for quiet days, when nothing special seems to be happening. Instead of being bored by the lack of action, use times of routine to seek My Face. (Jesus Calling, April 13) I have come to really enjoy the "quiet days" in the NICU. It's in those times that we can reflect on God's goodness and be thankful for the little miracle He has given us. We know that all days can't be quiet because we have to have opportunities to trust Him and allow Him to grow us.  Through this time we have found that we have LOTS to be thankful for even when the day seems mundane and uneventful.
Joshua has had a good day. He seemed to have a little bit of reflux, but seems to be tolerating his feeds. They added some calories to my milk starting today just to give him some extra calcium and other goodies that he needs as a preemie. Hopefully that will go well! One of my favorite things I enjoy about Joshua is him opening his eyes as we are talking to him. It's so much fun!!
Joshua dropped weight some tonight, but hopefully he will gain it back tomorrow. We ended the night the best way possible, snuggling together!

Maddy had a blast at Chuck E Cheese today and was glad her friend Hank could come too!

Specifics to pray for:

That Joshua continues to breathe well and can get over on the nasal canula as soon as his lungs are developed enough to handle it. The CPAP is a bit rough on his nose.

For his tests coming up in about a week. Second brain scan, eyes test and an Eco of his heart again.

That he will continue to tolerate his feeds and not have major issues with reflux.

For wisdom for all the NICU staff in dealing with all the babies in there.

For God to be glorified through all of our lives and that we will be a light to those around us.
