Joshua's Journey: Day 15

The roller coaster  began to incline again today after what felt like a huge drop to us yesterday. Though the climb back up might feel slower, the one thing I can say is that God is faithful and He is our constant in all of this chaos. My prayers just keep going back to God being Joshua's strength during this time that he is so weak and little, and that as He gets older and has the choice to either depend on his own self for strength or God's that he will choose to continue to rely on God for his strength and guidance! That is and will be Derek and my job to model that and teach him and Maddy that as they get older. What a privilege but also what a responsibility at the same time. I guess he really wanted to give us a chance to practice what We preach in that area. It so easy for us to want to be our own strength, but it just never works out for us when we do that because that was never how it was meant to be.
Joshua had a good day today. He had an episode at about 7 am and didn't have one the rest of the day until we left around 9:30. God is good and all of your hardcore prayer worked and is beyond appreciated.

As I was praying, I decided to read Psalm 25, because that was the day he was born and this is what stuck out to me:
Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and MY HOPE IS IN YOU ALL DAY LONG. Psalm 25:4-6

He's ready to get some blood!

Maddy has been a trooper hanging out at the hospital.

Specifics to pray:

That the blood transfusion will help him to carry blood and oxygen throughout his body better and that he will begin to produce his own red blood cells at a faster rate.

For his lungs to continue to grow and mature and that he will be able to take deep breaths on his own without the machine having to help him.

For God to be his and all of our strength during this tough time but also when times are going good.

For blessings on and wisdom for the NICU staff as they decide what is best for Joshua and the other babies.

That as they begin to feed him again, he will tolerate the feedings and not have issues with reflux.

If he did have an infection that the antibiotics will work to knock it out!

God will be glorified through all of this and we will be a light for Him.
